Every summer Greenheart welcomes thousands of Summer Work and Travel participants from all over the world! Greenheart works with international partner agencies to screen and select highly qualified international candidates for U.S. businesses with seasonal hiring needs. These participants come to the U.S. eager to gain seasonal work experience through their cultural exchange. Likewise, our Host Organizations learn from international seasonal staff they hired with Greenheart! Host Organizations learn about other cultures — exchange participants bring a global perspective to their organizations. Upon arrival in the U.S., our Host Organization implement a training for these participants before they start their seasonal positions, to ensure a positive experience for everyone! This is the true spirit of cultural exchange – a mutual benefit and learning experience to participants, Host Organizations and the local community.
We love hearing from our hosts! The Director of Human Resources Silvia Hidalgo at Hospitality Partners responded to our questions about her experience with the group of Greenheart exchange participants hosted at the Carousel Oceanfront Resort this summer. Read on to find out what she shared!
How did the training experience of Summer Work and Travel participants go?
I received positive feedback from the training managers that it has been going great, and everyone did a great job with learning the Carousel Way. Also, training managers say it’s been a joy to be around the group and watch them learn.
What motivates the training managers to work with Summer Work and Travel participants?
The participants come from different parts of the world. This allows us to learn something from them just as much as they learn from us. They are the heartbeat of summer; without them we wouldn’t be able to give our guest a great experience.
How about your guests and their experience with Greenheart’s international seasonal staff?
Our guests love them! They have a unique way of connecting with our guests.
Tell us about your overall experience with hiring seasonal staff with Greenheart?
It takes incredible courage to travel to a new place, and we admire that. At the Carousel, our goal is to make our international team members feel at home from the very start. We’re intentional with our recruitment, hand-picking individuals we believe will be a great fit. From day one, we work to ensure they feel like part of our team. We’re grateful for the opportunity to welcome our international friends and make lasting memories together. Summer 2025 is already shaping up to be the best one yet for the Carousel Team!
