At BridgePrep Orange, one of the newest members of the teaching staff is already making a remarkable impact.
Mary Ann Mondelo, a Greenheart Teach USA participant from the Philippines, has quickly distinguished herself as a highly skilled educator and valued member of the school community. Although she is new to both BridgePrep Orange and the United States, her dedication to student success and commitment to professional excellence have not gone unnoticed. In fact, she has already been recognized within the BridgePrep network for her exceptional instructional practice.
For Mondelo, joining the Greenheart Teach USA program was an opportunity to do more than teach abroad. It was a chance to expand her professional horizons, collaborate with fellow educators, and share her culture with students and colleagues in a meaningful way.
One of the defining features of the Greenheart Teach USA program is its emphasis on cultural exchange, and Mondelo is embracing that opportunity wholeheartedly. Alongside other Greenheart teachers at BridgePrep Orange, she is helping plan a school-wide celebration for Filipino American History Month in October. The event will provide students and staff with the opportunity to learn about Filipino culture, traditions, and contributions while fostering greater cross-cultural understanding throughout the school community.
These cultural exchange experiences enrich the educational environment for everyone involved. Students gain exposure to new perspectives and global experiences, while international educators have the opportunity to build lasting connections and share aspects of their heritage in authentic and engaging ways.
