Greenheart Returns to the Philippines for an In-person Hiring Event

After wrapping up their successful event in Thailand, the Greenheart team and Patricia from Six Flags/Cedar Point traveled straight from Bangkok to another Southeast Asian gem -Manila, Philippines, to be joined by even more host organizations from the U.S. This marked Greenheart’s first post-COVID Job Fair in the Philippines, organized in partnership with our long-time collaborator First Place Inc. Together, we welcomed a group of enthusiastic participants eager to begin their international journey.

Every season, Greenheart hosts international job fairs around the world, giving our U.S. host organizations the opportunity to meet candidates face-to-face and experience their local cultures firsthand. These immersive events not only create lasting memories but also allow hosts to complete their seasonal hiring efficiently and meaningfully.

In this blog post, Nick Deng, Partner Relations Manager at Greenheart, shares highlights and reflections from this exciting return to the Philippines.

Greenheart Travels with Host Organizations to Hire Seasonal Staff

Coinciding with the week of All Saints’ Day, Greenheart Exchange staff and four of our U.S. host organizations gathered in Quezon City, Metro Manila, the lively and historic capital of the Philippines. Manila perfectly captures the essence of contrast – colonial landmarks and centuries-old churches standing proudly beside modern skyscrapers and bustling streets. It’s a city full of life, history, and heart.

Straight to Work

The Job Fair event came to life on Monday, November 3. It started with a warm and spirited welcome from First Place Inc. Their presentation set the tone for an exciting day ahead. Following that, there were engaging introductions. Our Host Organizations Custer State Park, Fair Hills Resort, and Six Flags/Cedar Point shared stories that sparked excitement and inspiration among the participants.

Throughout the day, participants impressed everyone with their professionalism, enthusiasm, and genuine passion. The host organizations were equally engaged, meeting talented individuals eager to embark on new cultural and professional adventures abroad. More than just a recruitment event, the Job Fair served as a stepping-stone to growth. It offered participants employment opportunities and the chance to broaden their horizons, build independence, and embrace life across cultures.

Intramuros Tour: A Journey Through Time

To complement their professional experience, the Greenheart team and host organizations explored Intramuros, Manila’s storied Walled City. The group set out in two horse-drawn carriages, winding through cobblestone streets, centuries-old churches, and beautifully preserved plazas. Each corner reflected the Philippines’ rich heritage and enduring spirit.

Every corner of Intramuros told a story of resilience and pride. It was sensed from the grandeur of San Agustin Church to the peaceful gardens of Fort Santiago. For many, the tour was more than just sightseeing. It was a cultural immersion into the heart of the Filipino identity, where history and modern life gracefully intertwine. Laughter, curiosity, and shared wonder filled the air. Participants reflected on how cultural exploration connects people across borders and generations.

Greenheart Project: Community Activity at Safe Haven

Greenheart, in partnership with First Place Inc., visited Safe Haven, a nurturing home for children that embodies positivity and hope. It is part of our continued commitment to community engagement and cultural exchange.

The day began with a warm welcome and an introduction to the facility. That gave visitors a deeper understanding of the meaningful work being done there. The highlight of the visit was the Kindness Rocks art activity. Participants and children painted smooth stones with encouraging words and colorful designs. The event continued with gift-giving and partner presentations that filled the afternoon with smiles, laughter, and gratitude.

A Meaningful Return

From cultural discovery to community connection, Greenheart’s return to the Philippines was filled with purpose and heart. The event strengthened partnerships and celebrated the power of international exchange. It brought people together through shared experiences, understanding, and kindness.

Looking ahead!

We continue to build bridges that make the world a little smaller, and a lot brighter. Together, with our hosts, partners, and participants, we do this!
