Exchange Day is an annual celebration of the power of cultural exchange, bringing together BridgeUSA participants, host organizations, local partners and communities members to celebrate the connections and experiences made possible through exchange programs. This summer, we were excited to be a part of bringing that tradition to Estes Park, Colorado for the CSG’s inaugural Exchange Day!
The theme of Exchange Day is always: Eat. Play. Give. And all three, we did!
EAT. Participants enjoyed a classic American-style BBQ, complete with burgers, hot dogs, and all the fixin’s you’d expect at a summer cookout.
PLAY. It wouldn’t be a summer field day without a little friendly competition! Participants took part in classic games like potato sack races, three-legged races, and the egg-and-spoon race, with prizes generously donated by local Estes Park businesses.
GIVE. Participants also had the opportunity to make friendship bracelets that will be given to children experiencing hospitalization to help make their birthdays a little brighter. A meaningful way to incorporate service and giving back.
Exchange Day also marked the culmination of months of hard work by the Estes Park Community Support Group. From a welcome week of events beginning of the season to hosting a World Cup event earlier this summer, the CSG has worked to create opportunities for connection, support, and community throughout its inaugural year.
Closing out the summer together was both incredibly fun and a little bittersweet. We learned so much during this first year and can’t wait to build on that momentum as the CSG continues to grow in Estes Park.
