Paula is this years winner of the Trinity Kitchens Scholarship! This scholarship honors the memory of Trinity Kitchens, a valued member of the Greenheart community who inspired others through kindness, leadership, and a love of sports. This award recognizes students who reflect these same values.
I arrived to the U.S on friday the 14th of August and my host family and local coordinator received me at the airport.
That weekend I unpacked, went to my first American church and went to eat to an Italian place. On Monday I did my school schedule and started my classes on Tuesday.
Everything went so so so smooth, I had to change some schedules for validation back in Spain and the counselors and teachers were nothing but supportive.
I joined XC (cross-country) and track & field and made a ton of friends there and in my classes!
I also celebrated my 16th birthday with my host family, some friends and Connie & Richard and I had the best best time!!
The next week I went to my first football match and let me tell you – it was JUST like in the movies! After that I went with my friends to try raising canes and it was very very good. The following day I had a XC meet (though i didn’t run) but everyone was so so friendly and welcoming. And finally, I got to go to the Fort Worth stockyards with my family and it is just like the old west movies!!
