Greenheart Successfully Hosts Inaugural Work and Travel Job Fair for Summer 2026 in Bangkok

Greenheart is excited to return to Bangkok, Thailand, for the first Work and Travel Job Fair for the Summer 2026 season, with more hiring events on the horizon. This inaugural gathering seamlessly blended cultural exploration, environmental sustainability, and career opportunities, uniting our dedicated host organizations, our valued partner Acadex, and a group of enthusiastic participants eager to embark on their international journeys.

In this blog post, Nick Deng, Partner Relations Manager at Greenheart, shares his reflections on this unforgettable experience, which left everyone energized and inspired for the road ahead.

Friday: Cultural Legacy and Community Connection

The weekend began on a somber note, as news of the passing of Thailand’s Queen Mother Sirikit marked a profound moment of national mourning. In respect for this significant loss, Greenheart and Acadex proceeded with the event in a spirit of quiet reverence, honoring the cultural significance of the occasion.

The first day (Friday, Oct 31, 2025) featured an impactful volunteer activity focused on mangrove forest restoration at Bang Pu, located along the coast of Samut Prakan. This hands-on initiative reflected Greenheart’s commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement. By participating in the restoration efforts, attendees not only contributed to the local environment but also experienced the power of collective action in nurturing both nature and community.

The group then enjoyed a relaxing lunch at Rabieng Ta-le, a charming coastal restaurant near where the group volunteered. Known for its authentic Thai seafood and serene beachside setting, the restaurant provided the perfect atmosphere for conversation and bonding. The team shared stories, savored fresh flavors, and expressed their excitement for the job fair ahead.

After a day filled with exploration and meaningful volunteer work, the group relaxed with traditional Thai massages at Health Land Ekkamai. It was a rejuvenating experience that offered the perfect end to a fulfilling day.

Saturday: Career Connections at Church of Christ

Saturday marked the highlight of the weekend—the Greenheart Job Fair, hosted in partnership with Acadex. The spacious venue was filled with energy and optimism as hosts and participants gathered to explore exciting international work opportunities.

The day kicked off with a welcoming presentation from Acadex and Greenheart. Following that, there were introductions from our esteemed hosts. That included Joshua from YMCA Rockies, Kelsey and Patricia from Six Flags, and Laura from Grand Teton. Each host outlined the program structure and expectations, and provided valuable insights. That helped participants feel confident and well-prepared for the interviews ahead.

Interviews and New Beginnings

The highlight of the event was the interviews which were marked by genuine exchanges of curiosity, ambition, and shared purpose. The Thai candidates impressed everyone with their professionalism, preparedness, and enthusiasm. That showed they were ready to embark on new adventures.

The interviews represented more than just a job opportunity. They were a gateway to personal growth, cross-cultural exchange, and exciting new experiences abroad.

An Event to Remember

Despite beginning under the shadow of national mourning, the weekend unfolded as a touching reminder of resilience, respect, and unity. The balance of cultural immersion, environmental stewardship, and professional development made the Bangkok Job Fair an unforgettable experience.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our hosts, Acadex (partner organization), and every participant who contributed to the success of this remarkable event. Together, we celebrated connection, culture, and purpose.
