Did you know Greenheart holds multiple hiring events every year for the Summer Work Travel program? From in-person events to virtual hiring, Greenheart offers a variety of ways to hire the seasonal staff our host organizations need. And we place hundreds of our participants at domestic and international events. Over the years, the number of Hosts Organizations participating in hiring events virtually has increased. From the limited travel during the pandemic, to the convenience in hiring right from your desk, of course we understand why. But, let’s talk about why hiring in person matters. 

Face-to-Face Helps Avoid Communication Gaps

A primary advantage of going with Greenheart to an in-person International Job Fair event is the opportunity to observe candidates’ non-verbal cues. Body language, facial expressions, and overall demeanor provide critical insights into a candidate’s personality and how they might be suitable for the role. Communication style, confidence, and energy levels are traits that may not shine through a screen the way they can in-person. Face-to-face meetings also help prevent communication gaps. 

Dynamic and Authentic Connections

Another advantage is that the in-person hiring process fosters a stronger sense of connection between the candidate and the host company. Being physically present with a hiring manager allows a candidate to engage with a potential team member and visualize what the work environment might be like. The chance for a face-to-face dialogue can lead to more dynamic and authentic conversations, enabling both parties to make more informed decisions.

Bonds Strengthen

Greenheart values its partnerships with our Host Organizations and International Sending Partners. Being able to merge these relationships is unique and special. When recruiters from our Host Organizations get to meet our staff and International Sending Partners, bonds strengthen. The trust and collaboration evolve further and that matters as each of these parties become support systems for not only the participants, but for each other throughout the program duration.
