How do you think your experience of attending the GGLC differed from other participants who came from different exchange programs?
As a teacher, I experienced GGLC through the lens of education. I wasn’t only representing myself—I was representing my students, my country, and the belief that education can change lives. Being the only teacher from Mexico made me feel proud and reminded me that leadership is about the impact we have on others.
What activity that you participated in during the week did you find the most impactful?
Visiting the U.S. Department of State was the highlight of my week. Standing there as a Mexican educator was something I never imagined. It reminded me that cultural exchange creates opportunities, builds understanding, and proves that education can open doors far beyond the classroom.
Something that exceeded my expectations attending at the GGLC
I expected to learn from the workshops, but I didn’t expect to connect so deeply with people from so many different cultures and professions. Every conversation gave me a new perspective and reminded me that we grow the most when we listen to others.
My biggest takeaway from the week at GGLC
I came home with a stronger sense of purpose. GGLC reminded me that teachers don’t just educate—we inspire dreams. If one teacher from Mexico can represent her country on a global stage, then every student I teach should believe their dreams can take them anywhere.
