Imagine how exciting it would be to diversify your U.S. business with talented international professionals who are ready to share your vision and mission, while bringing unique cultural, academic and hands-on experiences! Greenheart’s Career Advancement Program sponsors international university students, recent graduates and young professionals giving them the opportunity to become an Intern/Trainee with a U.S. business. These structured and guided training programs offer the chance for cultural immersion in the U.S. and professional development in the Intern or Trainee’s specific academic or occupational field.
Our culinary interns at the Hershey Lodge from Indonesia worked with the Lodge’s executive sous chef to create a menu for their Partner of the Month lunch. About 30 people attended, including nominees, their nominators, and members of leadership and Human Resources. The event went very well, and participants had a great time!

A Deep Dive into Menu Development and Leadership
Hershey Entertainment & Resorts (HE&R) culinary interns recently brought the authentic tastes of their home regions straight to the company’s kitchens. More than just cooking, it was a deep dive into menu development and leadership. Using a structured framework, the interns collaborated on a plan, which an internal team of 14 cooks helped bring to life. Throughout the process, the interns navigated challenges such as sourcing specific ingredients and communicating specialized cooking techniques to the veteran culinary staff. To ensure every dish was a success, the interns led a menu presentation.

Delicious Celebration of Talent, Culture and a Bright Future
Using photos to align with the team, they adjusted certain ingredients for allergies and finalized the menu presentation. A huge part of this journey was the significant coaching that helped the interns find the confidence to lead a seasoned staff and oversee food execution. It all culminated at the company’s Partner of the Month event, where the interns were fully involved in the service and able to introduce themselves. They shared the stories and traditions behind their dishes with the pride and hospitality that defines the HE&R team. It was a delicious celebration of talent, culture and the bright future of these emerging chefs!
